The biblical definition of the word ‘stand’ is to not bow down, give in, or be persuaded to do anything contrary to God’s Will.

Daniel 3:13-27

  • Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego – a clear biblical example of knowing how to stand even in the midst of great pressure and adversity.

    • King Nebuchadnezzar threatened Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego with death.

    • They stood on the knowledge of God and Who He was, knowing that He was able to save them.

    • They completely trusted in God and put their lives in His hands.

  • The enemy loves to threaten people with death to intimidate them and get them to submit to his control.

  • God is able and He will (2 Corinthians 5:7).

  • God will deliver you and He will do what He says in His Word.

  • Get into the Word to see what God has done before. Read the biblical examples so you can learn how to stand. You need to know God will deliver you.

  • Because Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego did not bow, they did not burn. Because they stood unwaveringly in the midst of great pressure and oppression, the fire had no power against them.

  • They had the Abrahamic Covenant. You have an even greater covenant- the Blood Covenant of Jesus Christ, which enables you to stand in faith, trusting God.

  • Learning how to stand is first knowing that God can, and He will. He is able, and He will.

  • Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego would not do anything contrary to God’s Will; they would not bow, give in to King Nebuchadnezzar, or what he was trying to make them do. They stood with God, and He protected them. That is the God you serve.

  • God (the Greater One) is on the inside of you (1 John 4:4).

 1 John 5:4-5

  • Your faith in God conquers all that is trying to come against and destroy you. Your faith in God makes you victorious.

  • Your trust in God delivers you to victory.

  • If you have made Jesus Christ Lord and Savior of your life, you are victorious over your enemy and can trust and rely on the sacrifice Jesus made for you. So, stand and rely on His sacrifice.

2 Corinthians 2:14

Colossians 2:15

Hebrews 2:14

  • Start speaking victory- what you want and not what you have.

  • Because of Whose you are (a child of the Most High God), He always leads you to triumph. You are victorious in Him.

    • Christ already fought the battle and disarmed the enemy.

    • He always leads His children to triumph.

  • Trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) in the Lord.

  • Speak His Words of victory because the end result is already guaranteed through what Jesus did for you (His sacrifice on the cross).

  • You know He is able. You know He will. Therefore, you know you are victorious.

  • God is the end. He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).

  • God is Jehovah Nissi which means God is your banner; God is your victory.

  • God is victory.

  • Victory lives in you (because God lives in you). Believe it in your heart and confess it out of your mouth.

 Ephesians 6:10-17

  • Put on the armor of the Lord to stand against the enemy.

  • God’s armor is for you to fight and be successful against your enemy.

  • You don’t have to fight alone or in your own strength.

  • Stand, therefore. Hold your ground against all the enemy’s deception.

  • God’s Word gives you the ability to stand firm, stable, and immovable against the enemy.

 Hebrews 10:23-24, 30, 35-36

  • When you know the Will of God, you know the end result, which is victory. Therefore, you can stand firm without wavering.

  • God has promised you victory because He is victory.

  • God is faithful to His Word.

  • God is your defender. He will avenge you and cause you to recover all the enemy has stolen.

 1 Corinthians 16:13

  • Be on guard and stand firm in God’s strength.

  • The joy of the Lord is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10).

  • If you have no joy, you have no strength to fight against your enemy.

  • Therefore, you must protect your joy.

 Romans 14:4

  • God is your support to help you stand. You don’t have to do anything on your own.

 Galatians 5:1

  • Stand enduringly on the fact that Christ has already given you freedom.

 John 16:33

  • God has already conquered the enemy.

  • Say, “Failure and defeat are not in my future.”

 Isaiah 40:8

  • The enemy cannot destroy the power of God’s Word.

  • Stand on God’s Word. God’s Word stands forever.

 1 Corinthians 15:1-2, 57-58

  • The devil comes immediately to steal the Word once it has been sown, so hold fast to God’s Word (Mark 4:15).

  • Hold fast to the Word of God in all circumstances, tests, and trials. Don’t be tricked by the devil.

  • You are victorious because of Christ’s sacrifice.

  • The word ‘endure’ means to be strong and firm.

 1 Corinthians 10:13

  • God has given you the ability to resist, stand, rise above, and overcome.

  • God will give you the ability to be strong and firm in all circumstances, tests, and trials.

 God says:

  • Don’t give up. Don’t give up.

  • God will get you through all things.
